"We don't need to save our kids. We need to teach them that they don't need to be saved."
-Dr. Marinda K. Harrell-Levy (Asst. Youth Advisor & Professor of Youth Development)

Join the Alpha Omicron Youth Auxiliary today. Our children are our responsibility. Together we will raise the village.
One of the most satisfying and rewarding experiences of Gamma Phi Delta Sorority, Inc. is our youth auxiliary. Our youth groups were inactive in 2019-2020, and that was very sad for our group because our commitment to youth remains a fundamental value.
One of the benefits of the Gamma Phi Delta brand is the intergenerational mentorship and support of all members and at all levels. Youth members in the GPD auxiliary are able to benefit from mentorship from older youth, young adults, middle aged adults, and our elders who have led in many industries and who have the most wisdom of all. In a time of a global pandemic and civil unrest all throughout this country, our Sorors have renewed our commitment to the work we most love to do: Building The Village (or, as our advisors like to say, nation-building).
We are excited to get back to the business of offering programs (including remote programs!) that foster the improvement of the educational and vocational status of our young people. Alpha Omicron Chapter is excited to rebuild our Youth Auxiliary and enhance the development of Washington, DC youth through educational achievement, encouragement, dissemination of information and financial assistance.
Please see below for the youth programs we are rebuilding, as well as the age range.
